Survey of popular music in the United States from the 1840s until the present.  Delivery style is mainly lecture, but I do recommend that only high schoolers (ages 15-18 perhaps) be in the class due to the nature of some of the music with themes of romance, betrayal, race relations etc.

Partner dance class with an emphasis on the rhythm (or Latin) dances: Salsa, bachata, merengue.  We might also introduce some swing and waltz, depending on the progress of the class.  Several sessions wiil be made available to ensure adequate dance space.  No partner necessary; expect frequent partner switching.  Class wil be mostly physical movement with some introductory material on the history of music and dance.

Whether your student is beginning to draw, or is already an accomplished artist, there is always more to learn. This class will develop and refine artistic skills in drawing, painting and sculpture. Individuality and personal expression are guaranteed, with students selecting their subject matter within a focus area. Teachers are professional artists with 27+ years experience. Supplies are included in the class fee.

Victorian Tea Camp

Ladies Penny and Brianna cordially invite all young ladies to join us for a week of learning about the Victorian Era. Regency Ball dancing, parlor games, cross-stitching, art and tea lessons are just the beginning. We will study American women of the Victorian Age: young ladies will learn about Louisa May Alcott as they hear her stories and we will study the American impressionist, Mary Cassatt, as they study her art! The girls also get to run an escape room as they learn about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad! We will study the inventions of the Victorian Age such as the telephone, the iron, and the telegraph. We will learn how to brew tea, take care of fine china, and about proper table manners. Finally, the girls get to have a full High Tea on our last day!! Families are invited to join us on the last day at 4:00 for High Tea for $10 per person as we demonstrate our Regency Dances, the Virginia Reel and Pineapple Dance!

We are now Booking groups for nine separate sessions. 

Ages 6-12 years                                                                       

Each girl is dressed in her own Victorian skirt, petticoat and blouse.

Groups of 6 girls per one of our adult Gibson Girls. Camp limit is 12 girls per session.  Minimum of 6 required to hold the camp.                                                                                  

If you’re able to pre-plan your own group of 6 girls to come, each girl will receive $25 off her camp tuition, and the parents will also receive two free escape room tickets for Escape In Time! We also offer sibling discounts! Discounts can not be combined.

Post Script: NM Academic State Standards addressed in this course Social Studies, Benchmark I-B, Grade 2; Benchmark I-C, Grade 4; and Benchmark II-E, Grades 2 & 3. Each six=week session is the equivalent of two elementary school Social Studies/History semester credits.

What is Summer Intensive?  

A full week of sample classes being offered in the fall.  Students join their friends and make new friends as they move through a variety of learning opportunities every morning all week long.  Students will be introduced to a variety of instructors including:  Sandy Cannon, Marsha Edminsten, Jim Kessler, Mona Koerner, Tani Masters, Corrine Rios, Bethe and Jason Sailer, Christine Tidmore, and Beverly Williams.

Classes for students age 12+ include:  Personal Finance and entreprenuership, Biology Lab, Archaeology and the Bible, Thinking Like a Christian, Art, Government, Informal Logic, Hebrew, Writing, Aerodynamics, Developing the Mind of Christ

Classes for students age 8-11 include:  Creative Drama, Poetry and Grammar, Mission to Mars, Science Lab, Hebrew, Writing, entreprenuership

And new this year!  Our track for students age 4-7 is 45 minutes each day and will include Math Games, Spanish, Tiny Book Club, KinderCraft and Science and more! Cost for Tiny Track is $25 for the week.  Select Tiny Track at checkout.

We are Standing Tall United for Freedom!  In this four-day leadership class, your student aged 13-18 will learn civic engagement.  This in-person, interactive, fun event will include writing a bill, participating in mock legislature, learning from teen role models, hearing from prominent individuals fighting for freedom in New Mexico, discussing in committees, worshiping, and exploring Biblical mandates for Christians.  Lunch is included.  Space is limited.  You don't want to miss this! 

Part of leadership training is learning to present yourself in a professional manner, as such, students are expected to behave and dress professionally.  Please see the S.TU.F.F. dress code for more information. 

Pre-class homework is required to prepare students to fully participate.
